Notation based on the Act on Specified Commercial Transactions
Last updated: 2026-08-17
Draft — not yet in force. This text has been prepared for review and is not legal advice. It must be checked by a qualified Japanese practitioner (行政書士 or 弁護士), and every item marked 【TO BE COMPLETED】 must be filled in, before it binds anyone.
Seller details, pricing, payment method, delivery timing, and cancellation terms, as required of a mail-order trader under Article 11 of the Act.
Seller
- Trading name
- 【TO BE COMPLETED】Enter the name under which the business actually trades. If operating as a sole proprietor without a registered trade name, the operator’s full legal name is required here.
- Representative
- 【TO BE COMPLETED】
- Address
- 【TO BE COMPLETED】A sole trader working from home may withhold the address from public display, provided this notation instead states that the full address will be disclosed without delay on request. If that option is taken, replace this row with that undertaking — and honour it, because it is the condition on which withholding is permitted.
- Telephone
- 【TO BE COMPLETED】Same accommodation as the address: may be withheld from display if this notation undertakes to disclose it without delay on request. A number that is never answered does not satisfy the requirement.
- 【TO BE COMPLETED】
Price and additional charges
Every appraisal is quoted individually, because the work varies with the question asked and the number of charts involved. No price is charged that has not first been stated to you in writing and accepted by you. A quotation is presented before any contract is formed and before any payment is requested.
The quoted fee is the total payable for the appraisal itself. Any bank transfer charge, currency conversion cost, or payment-provider fee levied by your own bank or payment service is borne by you and is outside our control. Internet connection charges incurred in using this site are likewise your own.
Whether consumption tax (消費税) is included in a quotation, and whether the operator is a taxable enterprise for that purpose, must be stated here before this page goes live.
Payment method and timing
This site does not take payment. There is no checkout, no card form, and no card or bank credential is ever entered into or stored by this website. Payment is arranged separately after the quotation is accepted, using the method agreed with you at that point.
The accepted payment methods, the currency, and whether payment falls due before or after delivery must be stated here before this page goes live. Where payment is taken in advance of a written appraisal, that fact has to be explicit, since it determines what the cancellation terms below have to protect.
When the service is provided
Written appraisals are prepared by hand and delivered as a private PDF, ordinarily within three to four weeks of the birth details being confirmed and payment being settled. This is a working estimate rather than a guaranteed date. If preparation is going to take materially longer, you will be told, and you may cancel for a full refund at that point if the revised timing does not suit you.
Live sessions take place at the date and time you select when booking, in the duration shown for that format at the time of booking. Joining details are sent to the email address given at booking.
The free tools on this site — chart generation, compatibility scoring, and the rest — are provided immediately and without charge. They are not part of any paid contract and carry no delivery commitment.
Cancellation and refunds
Cancellation terms are set out in full in the Returns and Cancellation Policy, which forms part of this notation and constitutes the special return terms (返品特約) for the purposes of the Act. In summary: cancel before preparation begins and you are refunded in full; cancel once work has begun and you are refunded the portion not yet worked; a completed and delivered appraisal is not refundable on the basis of disagreement with its content, though it is refundable if it was not in fact delivered or was delivered in an unusable form.
Nothing in those terms limits any right you have under the Consumer Contract Act, the Civil Code, or any other mandatory law. Where a term stated here conflicts with such a right, the right prevails.
Operating environment
This site requires a current version of a mainstream browser with JavaScript enabled. Written appraisals are delivered as PDF files and require software capable of opening them. Live sessions require a stable internet connection and, depending on the format agreed, a device with a microphone and camera.
